By narrowing the bottom angle of the dripper to a maximum of 27 degrees, we have created a dedicated "FLOWER DRIPPER" for a single cup.
You no longer need to control extraction.
Simply pour hot water into the center once to brew the "ultimate single cup."
Simpler, more delicious coffee. Please enjoy.
The "DEEP45," already on the market, was developed with the concept of forming a deep filtration layer inside the dripper by narrowing the bottom angle to 45 degrees. However, due to the 45-degree angle, a small amount of coffee grounds could not form an ideal deep filtration layer. Thus, ideal deep filtration could only be achieved by deliberately brewing 3 to 7 cups.
However, in response to the enthusiastic feedback from people both domestically and internationally for a single-cup version of DEEP, and the growing popularity of enjoying pour-over for a single cup, we developed the "FLOWER DRIPPER DEEP 27."
It is perfect as a daily treat for yourself or as a gift for your loved ones. Enjoy the most delicious single cup.
Why 27°?
After repeated trials, we achieved the ideal bottom angle for a single cup. It took about 5 years from conception to completion.
(1) Even with a single cup of coffee grounds, a sufficient filtration layer (a layer of accumulated coffee powder) can be formed.
(2) CAFEC's ideal extraction speed: the rate at which water is poured from the top is the same as the rate at which coffee liquid is extracted from the bottom.
Brewing with the DEEP 27 will bring more richness and sweetness to your coffee. It extracts the characteristics of each coffee, only extracting the pleasant flavor components.
Special structure of the dripper
During the development of the FLOWER DRIPPER DEEP 27, we always considered the balance between the dripper and the paper, striving to create a dripper that achieves the "ultimate single cup." We were able to design such a unique flower-shaped dripper structure precisely because CAFEC has a deep understanding of coffee paper filters.
Key point 1
Perfect rib height
Even when the bottom angle is narrowed, the brewing speed does not decrease. This is because the height of the ribs subtly changes towards the bottom hole. This ideal rib height maintains an appropriate air layer between the paper and the dripper until the end, creating strong osmotic pressure inside the dripper, resulting in delicious coffee.
Key point 2
Optimal size of the bottom hole
Adjusting the rib height inevitably changes the size of the bottom hole. However, if the bottom hole is too large, the paper will protrude too much from the dripper, and in the latter half of brewing, it will not be able to withstand the weight of coffee powder and hot water, making the paper prone to tearing. On the other hand, if the bottom hole is too small, the paper will not protrude much, and the powder will clog near the bottom hole, slowing down the brewing speed.
The DEEP 27 dripper shape maintains the strength of the paper until the end and does not reduce brewing speed. After many trials, the optimal size of the bottom hole was finally achieved.
Key point 3
Its shape is convenient for direct brewing into a cup
The DEEP 27 is the dripper for the "ultimate single cup." Therefore, during its design, we also assumed that you would brew directly into a cup. Through the curved base of the dripper, we successfully maintained a greater distance between the dripper and the cup.
As a result, the bottom tip of the paper is less likely to be soaked in coffee, preventing the filter paper from tearing and coffee grounds from entering the coffee.
